Tutorials
The chapters "Basics ," "Installation, " and "Admin Interface" describe what ioBroker is and where each function is located in the admin panel. They are intended as a reference.
The tutorials take a different approach. They take a task and guide you through it from beginning to end, with the steps performed in the order they occur. Each tutorial is self-contained and can be completed in one sitting. Read sequentially, they provide a path from a newly installed system to one that is fully functional.
A running installation is required. If you don't have one yet, start with the installation .
The way
| Step | What it's about |
|---|---|
| 1. The first steps | System settings, password, data backup, first adapter. |
| 2. Tour of the surface | Which riders you need daily and which ones rarely. |
| 3. Manage adapters | Adapter and instance: install, update, downgrade. |
| 4. The first automation | Turn values into action, with Blockly. |
| 5. The first visualization | An interface for those who never want to see the admin. |
| 6. Record values | So that there will be a progression later. |
| 7. Diagrams | Make the process visible. |
| 8. Install updates | What recurs regularly, and in what order. |
| 9. Restore | The worst-case scenario: restoring a backup to a new system. |
If you only read two of them: the first and the last. Setting up data backup and having tried restoring it once is the difference between a hobby and a nuisance.
